Organic Gardening and Community Supported Agriculture Program

Gary Roland of Hairston Creek Farms is presenting an Introduction to Organic Gardening and the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program on February 11^th from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Trinity Episcopal Church.  Join the Ministry and Outreach Commission in welcoming Mr. Roland as we explore gardening as a means of outreach to the community and healthy living for ourselves.

CSA is a popular program that provides consumers with fresh, local produce for 32 weeks out of the year and two growing seasons.  The program offers an opportunity for participants to try new vegetables along with the usual crops grown in the area and new ways of cooking.

Mr. Roland has farmed in the area for 20 years and is a noted agronomist.  He worked for the government of Bermuda prior to farming in Central Texas.  Hairston Creek Farms is located between Marble Falls and Burnet off CR 335.
